Bought these for kids lunches and they are great.I fill them with hot water (from coffee maker), for 10 minutes, then drain and fill with warmed up pasta or soup or whatever. It keeps it nice and warm until their lunch time. I pack lunches at 7am and they eat around 12. When I unpack at 3 it's slightly above room temperature. Still warm but not hot like before.Also they drop these and they don't leak at all. But they can open them themselves.

My son loves the C-3P0 design. It holds enough Mac and cheese, pasta, and even cut up pancakes, for his lunch - he’s 6; a bigger kid might need a bit more. Based on a review, I fill the thermos with hot water while I heat up the food and make the rest of his lunch; dump the water and the thermos keeps his food hot until lunch time. I am SURE his lunchbox/backpack get tossed around after he leaves, but we haven’t had any leaks. Easy to clean and fits in a standard size PB Kids lunch box along with a juice box and a couple snacks. Photo next to a 12 oz can for scale.

I bought two of these for my two boys and they're a hit! I've been making mac n cheese in the morning around 7:45am, we prime the thermoses with boiling water for 5-10 minutes while the pasta cooks and both boys have reported that their mac n cheese is still warm at lunchtime (11:15 and 11:45). Would definitely purchase again!

Very nice thermos that fits perfectly in my sons lunchbox. Make sure you let boiling water sit in it first before you pack it with anything you want to stay warm or it will be cold by lunch. Hot water from the faucet does not work. Wish that step wasn't needed but when you do it, it works well. There is no instruction about this step listed

Great little thermos. Arrived on time as promised. Keeps a school lunch warm for about 5 hours but you have to pour boiling water in first for a few minutes to warm the thermos. Empty the water then put the food in. Only complaint is that it smelled funny. Like it had been in storage a long time. I poured a few tablespoons of baking soda and boiling water in it and left it over night. Smell gone in the morning!

This has been perfect for my sons lunch box. I put them in the dishwasher to clean each time. I always double check the rubber seal on the lid for leftover food particles left behind. I simply run a piece of towel or washcloth inside the rim of the seal to make sure it's dry so it doesnt grow mold or mildew. We use this thermos for chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and chef boyrdee. The chef boyrdee stains the rubber seal, so I suggest washing it by hand or use a tiny bit of Clorox to clean it. For us, it's the perfect size for school lunches.

Kept my son’s ice water cold forever. I filled up this container at 9am he arrived home at 3:30pm and there was still whole pieces of ice in the container. The day before this I learned a lesson the hard way, you can’t fill this with cooked Ramon Noodles it’ll just soak up the liquid. Although, the noodles remained hot he did not eat it, it was mushy. However, this is perfect for bringing Campbell chicken soup to school.Tip: One of the reviewers was right. I added boiling hot water to this container, but I closed the lid and let the boiling water sit in the container for only 5 minutes. After the five minutes I poured out the boiled water and added the hot Campbell soup to the container at 8:50am. My son’s lunch period is about 11:30am he said he had to blow on the soup before eating it because it was still very hot.

Bought these for my sons lunch box to be able to send him with hot meals.As others have mentioned it’s best to “heat them” before adding food for best results. I just warm some water to boil in microwave and pour it in container and close for about 5 minutes before draining and adding whatever food. This ensures the food actually stays warm all dayWith that being said, as others have mentioned there seal does come out. You need to be extra careful when washing it not to lose it. It started coming out just a few weeks after having it. They really should include an extra one since it seems to be an issue. That’s the only reason I took one star away.

We use this container to send hot lunch items to school with my son. If works perfectly! Be sure to use it as intended if sending hot foods. You put boiling water in it, close it, wait 10 minutes and then pour the water out and put your food in. This keeps it hot/warm.We have used it to send mac n cheese, chicken nuggets and chicken fries. My son is extremely picky and still eats all of his lunch so I know it's staying warm!Beyond functionality, the thermos is well made and we love the design! 5 stars!

My kids love HOT or COLD food for their school lunches. This totally did the trick for them. I recommend if you are doing something HOT and need it to stay hot for 5 hours make sure its piping hot before you put it in the thermos. I warmed soup up for my daughter and it was just a tiny bit warm by the time she got to eat it. The next time around I heated it very well and it was hot when she got to eat it 5 hours later during her lunch period.Also don't over fill it or it will spill everywhere when you try to screw the top on it. Learned that the hard way. I love this thermos and will probably buy another one.

My friend turned me on to these funtainers as they're perfect for school lunch boxes. It's really nice to be able to send a warm lunch with my son and this works great. The container has a wide enough mouth that it's easy to access the food, and it's also not too big for a kid sized portion. I would definitely buy again and recommend to others.UPDATE:. After only a few uses, the rubber ring fell off somewhere at school and you can't just buy replacements online, you have to order through Thermos customer service. I'm not too pleased about this, given that we've only had it a short time. Thermos should make the rings easily available for purchase online if they're going to be so easy to lose.
