When I was looking for a Dutch Oven for my wife, I chose the one made by Lodge because I thought it was made in the USA. I was very disappointed, when I opened it up last night to see it was made in China. I am even more disappointed that reading through the product description, and in the section about the company Lodge, it leads the consumer to believe all of it's cast iron cookware is Made in Tennessee. This really seems to be false advertising, either by Lodge or by Amazon. I thought I was purchasing a Made in the USA product, but instead I received a Made in China pot. Granted we just opened the Dutch Oven last night, it may work very well. But mostly, I am disappointed, frustrated, and upset by the false advertising.

Buyer beware! This item is not returnable according to amazon’s new policy. I received my item with two chips in it (one I noticed right away and the other when I was using it). The minute I unpacked the box, there was a big chip on the handle, the second chip I found was under the pot... I tried contacting Lodge directly because this item is not eligible for return on Amazon and was advised to go back to Amazon because I bought it through them.... the pot itself works ok... not worth paying full price ($144) if it’s going to arrive damaged. Very, very disappointing...

Very disappointed. I’ve wanted a good Dutch oven for a few years and because I didn’t want to spend the big bucks on a Le Creuset, I went online to see what the scuttlebutt was on Le Creuset vs Lodge. For the most part people were keen on both, but a very few did say the the Lodge had a tendency to chip. Because that didn’t seem to be an overwhelming problem, I decided to go for a Lodge 6 quart... It was great for the first two weeks and then a chip appeared on the rim... Amazon has been great about agreeing to take it back and have sent me a label to mail it back to them... I went online last night and did a little more research and purchased a Staub 5.5 quart last night. Cheaper than a Le Creuset and more expensive than a Lodge. We shall see...

I used it as much as I could over the last two years. It's much better than the stainless steel Dutch oven. Overall, a good enameled cast iron Dutch oven. And it cleans up easily, but I usually use it for soups, stews, chili, pasta sauce. No chipping issues but I don't use metal cooking utensils - only silicone, wood or plastic. Made in China, unfortunately. My non-enameled cast iron skillets are made in the USA.My only issue with it is that it has a more rounded bottom and therefore a somewhat small base at 7" in diameter whereas the rim is 11". A smaller base means less surface area at the bottom of the Dutch oven for doing stuff like sweating onions or searing meats. If the base was 8.5" in diameter then you would have 50% more cooking surface area. It's like asking yourself if you'd rather cook with a 7" skillet or a 8.5" skillet!Even though I think it is a good quality enameled Dutch Oven, if I was looking for another one I would look for one with a larger flat base.

Love this! I have used it a bunch of times and am a few months in. I followed the directions of care which aren't complicated, and at the same time are specific. I completely love how even it heats and how well it cooks everything from pilaf to chicken fingers, it also hand washes beautifully! It's not too heavy, but then again I expected it to be heavy so who knows. I guess if you never lift anything more than 5 pounds of anything or perhaps have neurological issues this might not be the most encouraged purchase? It sure wouldn't do well to drop it, on a toe, or tile, or on wee ones or fur babies....but if that's not an issue then don't worry about it!

J'utilise cette cocotte pour tous les plats mijotés. Cela fait environ deux ans que je l'ai achetée et elle a encore l'air toute neuve et je l'utilise très souvent. C'est la qualité Lodge, fait en Chine selon les spécifications de la marque. C'est une beauté de marmite, au fini soigné et avec une épaisse couche d'émail cuit tant à l'extérieur qu'à l'intérieur. Si on suit les recommandations de cuisson et de nettoyage incluses dans l'emballage, on est ravis du résultat. Bien mieux que la célèbre marque Le Creuset question qualité/prix. J'en ai acheté une pour chacune de mes deux filles en plus de la mienne. Les couleurs sont superbes en plus. Comme vous voyez, je suis enchantée de mes achats. Seul bémol, qui n'en est pas un vraiment, c'est qu'elles sont un peu lourdes mais il faut s'attendre à cela avec ce genre de produit. Merci Lodge et merci Amazon.ca

I did A LOT of research before purchasing this product. Lodge was recommended as the top enamalized cast iron Dutch oven brand by a local kitchen distribution store. The Amazon price was actually about half the price as it was in store with free, fast shipping. These work both on the stove top and in the oven for a wide variety of foods. Every kitchen should have one.Also the colour is stunning and the price is great compared to similar items. Keep in mind most cheaper ones don't have the cast iron interior which won't stay hot as long and conduct heat as evenly. Comparable products by Staub and Le Creuset go for 4-5x the price.

Nice and heavy. Really impressive, particularly considering the price. I think it is just as good as brands that are 3-4x more expensive. Made some really fancy but super easy bread in it - google "no-knead bread" - it is delightful and easy.

I purchased this after a friend raved about hers and I have to say, I see what she was talking about.The first dish I made in this Dutch oven was Boeuf Bourguignon which was phenomenal. From rendering the fat from the lardons to browning the chunks of beef and then onions, easily deglazing the pan, the enamel cast iron worked perfectly. This Dutch oven goes from the stove top to the oven back to the stove top and then back to the oven again with no problem (just mind you don't grab the handle with your bare hands out of the oven) and can be put in the fridge as well.Incredibly easily to clean. Any bits around the edges that were baked on after a few hours simmering in the oven came off easily after a 5 minute soak in soapy water.I would recommend this Dutch oven to anyone looking for one. I considered getting one from Le Creuset but ultimately decided that this was more than sufficient as a home cook and saved myself over $500.

We are very pleased with this product. It arrived in a timely fashion and in perfect condition. Following the manufacturer's usage instructions, the dishes we prepared turned out wonderfully and we appreciate how the oven kept the food warm. The unit cleaned up easily with soapy water and cloth even after simmering a chile for hours. This Dutch oven not only performs well, but looks great and we leave it out on the stove top when not in use.

I bought this over a year ago and it is by far my favourite kitchen product. It is so versatile - you can use it on the stove, pop it in the oven, then clean it very easily. It is a great size, beautiful colour (and very heavy!) Will not disappoint

I got this as a gift for my partner because hes always wanted one and he loves it! We both love it!! It came in perfect condition and it's such a beautiful colour. Normally I'm scared to cook things in such intimidating products but this was a breeze. It's super easy to clean, perfect size for the stove top, holds plenty and so durable! So happy I've added this into our home.

... thanks to the Lodge Dutch oven! Although the 6 quart turned out to be a little too large for my purposes, I am still able to bake fantastic bread in it! Easy to handle, easy to clearn and not as heavy as I had feared!
