Has a chemical that California identifies as a carcinogen. I am not happy about that. Bamboo does not need any treatment, so it must be a glaze they applied. Will be returning.

I should've checked the reviews on this pos. Seemed like a decent item. Even when I got it, but I noticed the other day one side was just opened. As if it fell apart. Didn't have anything heavy. Just wooden spoons and not stuffed. Nothing went in wet. Because when I do it I like to go in dry baby! I can't remember what occurred but Friday? I picked it up. Oh I think to see what I could do to fix that side. Then it all just came apart. Just complete garbage. Think I'll get some wood glue see what I can do, but yeah stay away from this.

This is a review for the Oceanstar Bamboo Utensil Holder.I cook a lot, and as a result use a lot of cooking utensils during the day. I was getting tired of going back and forth to the utensil drawer and digging through for spoons, spatulas, whisks, and the like. My wife had the same problem, and we decided to get a utensil holder to put next to the stove.After looking over a number of products on Amazon, we decided on this one based on the size and cost. We were not disappointed. It is an attractive, small utensil holder that does not take up a lot of counter space but is big enough to hold a number of our essential stove tools. Its easy to clean and matches our wood cabinets well. We like the quality of the product and recommend it for others who are looking for a good place to keep your spatulas, spoons, and tongs.

I just received my utensil holder today, and it is just beautiful. It appears to be a quality piece, but because of some negative reviews of it splitting or breaking apart I reinforced it with two rubber bands, and put a decorative tie around the rubber bands. I hope this helps to keep it together, if not, I will use glue. Someone indicated it is "top heavy," but I found balancing the utensils by spreading them around the container instead of letting them all lay on one side is helpful. Overall, I like this container, which I use for bamboo/wooden utensils. If it splits in spite of my precautions I will update my review. Otherwise, I recommend.

Handy little guy. It's a little shorter than I'd hoped for, but not by much. I use it to corral my chopsticks (my primary eating utensil thus I have many) and it does a pretty good job of it. I haven't had any splitting or breakage and it arrived in good order. I have some Titebond III wood glue in the event there's a problem, but so far so good. It smelled treated when I first took it out of the package/box, but that quickly dissipated. You really can't beat the price and it does what it's meant to do. On a side note, I'm not sure if my counter has an uneven spot or if the bottom isn't perfectly flush, but it's a very, very minor wobble that's almost unnoticeable (in case that's a factor for you).

Great product. Holds my bamboo food utensils well, looks stylish.Gets one star docked because when loaded with 6 bamboo utensils, it's a bit top-heavy. It needs a weighed base to it, or some ball bearings. Also is a little bit small, and the base could be wider than the opening (a more angled, more pyramid-like shape would be more stable).Still would recommend, but only for 3 or 4 utensils max. 5 or 6 and it tends to lean or fall over, especially if they're all towards one side. If you plan to use with more, consider adding some ball bearings or a small iron plate to the bottom so it's more stable.

I love this. I am using it for kitchen utensils because I hate digging through drawers when I am cooking. Not to mention that I do not have a large kitchen, so this frees up more drawer space. I would order 2-3 more at this price. The seller was honest about the packaging being less than perfect and also honest about the product was in excellent condition. It was for me, not a gift, so I really didn't care about the packaging. Seller, please notify me if you ever have any more of the exact item and in the neighborhood of what I paid. I have been looking for something along this line and was delighted when I found it.

I was looking for a less expensive alternative to a knife block to put my ceramic knives in. The size was perfect for most sets of ceramic knives. I protected the tips of the knives from the wood bottom of the box by gluing in a trimmed down cork coaster. Here is my review of the box.1) Sturdiness: The box is put together well and is not flimsy in anyway.2) Color: The color is accurate from the photographs in the description.The box is so strong as to fill it up with my montage of ceramic knives that I have purchased. I am very happy with the box.

The item works great for holding large kitchen utensils, is functional, and not an eyesore sitting on my counter. I'd estimate it holds 6-8 large spoons, stirrers, prongs, etc.However, before I even used it, one side snapped off! Fortunately, it was totally fixable, as I used my trusty Liquid Nails

Unfortunately, these appeared to be defective products as there were varnish drips on each side of the holder, as well as several had the sides pulling apart. We bought others directly from Lowe's of the same product and they did not have varnish even on them and were much better made.

I picked up some teak utensils to replace some older nylon and silicone things, and wanted a more appropriate holder for them.This seemed to suit my needs, and the price was great.Well made, no cracks, smooth finish, no rough spots or splinters anywhere.Color is a good match as well.
