This is the third New Wave Enviro Stainless Steel Water Bottle I've purchased to replace the excessive plastic ones I've accumulated over the years.I really like the 40-ounce size and have come to depend on the durability of stainless. It is easily cleaned with baking soda and although some reviewers have detected a "metal" taste, I don't find this to be an issue.Although not a problem with the two previous bottles, the cap on this one did leak. Upon closer inspection, the seal displayed a manufacturing defect. It was easily remedied with a new seal I took from a different cap.If you're looking to dump those plastic bottles, I would recommend looking at this product.

I've been using this bottle for just over a year now, and it has gone everywhere and done everything with me. I'm a backpacker and die-hard outdoor enthusiast and demand quality in my supplies. I'm rough on my equipment and many products don't last long in my company, yet this bottle is still going strong and has not leaked on me once. Sure, it's dented a bit from tumbling across rocky ground and scratched all to hell, but it takes what I throw at it and still continues. Of course the bottle dents, it's metal. For the bottle to be dent-proof, it would have to be even thicker than it already is, adding excess weight to a bottle that is supposed to hold 40 ounces of water, which itself can be heavy for every-day carry. Dents are only cosmetic, and do not effect the integrity of the bottle. I should also note that the bottle doesn't dent easily, and a several foot drop with full water capacity will dent any metal bottle.I was very surprised and impressed with this product, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great bottle at a low price.

Nice stainless bottle. The nylon wrap is easy to remove, so you could lay this next to a fire to boil water (after removing the plastic top!). Not that I've done this. LOL, I just watch other guys do this stuff on Youtube and think how cool I'd be if I did this. But so far my bush county experience has been watching those that actually DO this stuff. Still, this bottle feels solid, does not impart any taste to my water and should work fine for boiling water if placed next to a fire.

Short video review of the New Wave Stainless steel bottle. I've had 4 stainless steel bottles now, all shortly misplaced and stolen. The first two were Klean Kanteen's I dented the bottom of one when it rolled off the back of the truck, never leaked. Never had any major denting if the bottle was less than half full. It really needs the weight and an impact on a hard surface to dent the bottles. the last two have been New Wave, basically they are cheaper and as far as I can tell the same as Klean Kanteen. If I loose this one again I'm going with the $8 stainless steel bottles. I will say I have left my nalgene bottles in various locations and came back to them every time, if you leave this type laying around people pick it up. I even put my name and number on the last one and when I realized I left it behind I went back and it was gone, no text or phone call.Pros:Water tastes exactly they way it tastes when you put it in. No metallic taste for me.Wrap it in a towel and it will stay cool in a hot car.The carry strap can also provide some impact resistance.Con:Can be loud when opening, if your in a quiet public setting or a classroom this might disturb people.may dent if its full of water and you drop it.

This water bottle doesn't really have a metallic taste, it holds at least 40 ounces of water, and it keeps the water fairly cool when stored at room temperature. It came with a stainless steel cap, which I wasn't expecting, but I definitely prefer. I haven't had any problems with leaking. The things I don't like so much about this item - the bottle does dent fairly easily (especially if thrown on the floor by an angry 2 year old!). The loop on the cap is small, one of my fingers fits very snugly through it, and when it is full, it is awkward to carry it with only one finger, as it is quite heavy. The bottle does sweat a lot if ice is put in with the water. I have had a couple of days when the water smelled bad, even after washing with baking soda or vinegar, but most days there is no smell. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase, and would be likely to buy one again.

Had to sand down some rough edges toward the inside of the top of the four bottles for fear of loose metal ending up in the water. Other than that the other seams were done nicely. The strap could be a better design. If you want it removed from the bottle you pretty much have to cut it off.Update: starting to get surface rust on the outside of two of the four bottles I bought. Don't waste your money on these.

I bought this stainless steel bottle to replace my plastic bottle after years of use and I wasn't sure if it was still safe to drink from it. I purchased this because it was the right size and included a strap with clip. The clip isn't the best and you may have to add another for ease of use. This bottle is not of thermos quality, but with the strap, you could easily carry it with hot or cold fluid. You may need a long handle brush to clean deep inside bottle.

pros: holds a lot of water compared to all those other little guys. fill this guy up twice a day and your practically setCons: this stainless steel lid sucks and broke after two weeks. i ordered the flip and sip and sports bottle caps through another website and 100% recommend them. this canister also leaves a lot of sweat underneath it which sucks for carrying it in your backpack and such.i like it, holds plenty of water, but the sweating is just as annoying as the stainless steel cap.
